In the past 10 years I have been exploring the world of Human Factors and Human-Computer Interaction from three academic perspectives: Psychology, Industrial Engineering, and Information Science. I was fortunate to apply this knowledge to design and develop visual interfaces for a large variety of industrial applications, including healthcare (ultrasound displays and personal monitors), building control (industrial and home thermostat controllers), web applications (online marketing web app), and small displays (mobile personal account management app).
My goal is to create win-win solutions that allow businesses to flourish by increasing their productivity and profitability, while optimizing the experience of their costumers by designing "user-friendly" interfaces. Therefore, I have adopted an ecological approach of system AND user-centered design.
Today I work as a Human Factors and Usability Engineer at IBM where I apply my knowledge and skills to develop web applications for half a million IBM employees and stakeholders, which helps them generate revenue of over 100 billion dollars per year.
